Post Description

Pay Scale

Level 11 (Rs. 67700- 208700/-) in the pay matrix.

Age:

Not exceeding 40 years for UR/EWS candidates as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 43 years for OBC Candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed 

Central/U.T. Government Servant upto five years as per instructions/orders issued by the Govt. of India from time to time.  For age concession applicable to some other categories of applicants, please see relevant paras of the ‘Instructions and

Essential Qualification (s)

A. EDUCATIONAL- Degree in Agricultural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or Institution.

B. EXPERIENCE-

Five years’ experience in Operation and Maintenance of tractors, Agricultural Machinery and allied equipment including teaching experience in any Government or private listed organization

Or

Five years’ experience in handling independently testing and evaluation of farm machinery and agricultural implements  in any Government or private listed organization.

Note: 

Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission for reasons to be recorded in  writing in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

Desirable Qualification (s)

Post Graduate Degree in Agricultural Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.

Duty(ies)

 • Overall in charge of testing and training activities.

• Planning, organizing, executing, testing, training, demonstration activities.

• Development of testing facilities, preparation of literature and audio visual aids for training.

• Examine, review, amend IS/ISO/OECD standard, TAP documents, CMVR.

Probation

One year

Headquarters

 Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi.

Liable to serve anywhere in India.

Posting can be at Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (Hqrs) or at existing Farm Machinery Training and  Testing Institute at Budni (Madhya Pradesh), Hisar (Haryana), Anantapur (Andhra Pradesh), Biswanath Chariali (Assam)  or any other Institute that may be set up in future in India or abroad, in the exigencies of public service.

Other Details

General Central Service, Group ‘A’, Gazetted. (Non-Ministerial).

The post is permanent.

IS ENGINEERING TEXT BOOKS IN REGIONAL LANGUAGES HELPS US, HERE IS A REPORT

The all India Council for technical education has recently launched technical text books for engineering courses in Marathi. The books have been introduced after the government decided to have engineering books 11 languages to support from non English medium schools.  In 2021 AICTE has initiated the translation work to publish 218 books and the Maharashtra government recently 20 engineering books in Marathi to help students.  Harshadeep s joshi, assistant professor, Babasaheb Ambedkar technological university ,lonere, Maharashtra who was among the panel involved with the translation of engineering books in Marathi hails the initiative to be supportive students.  The target group is the students from rural Maharashtra, where Marathi is the primary language.
