Notice Inviting Expression of Interest from Medical Practitioners, Chemists & Diagnostic Centres to be Empanelled with ESIC under mIMP scheme
Introduction: ESI Corporation (ESIC) is a statutory organization established under ESIC Act 1948. ESIC provides various benefits to its beneficiaries who are registered through their employers. Out of different benefits being provided, Medical Benefits (MB) are delivered through a chain of ESIC/ ESI Scheme(ESIS) run 155 hospitals, 1300 dispensaries and 950 empanelled Insurance Medical Practitioners (mIMPs). Secondary/Tertiary medical services which are not available in ESIC/ESIS institutions are provided cashless through tie up arrangement with more than 1000 public/private hospitals. ESIC R.O Karnataka, is in the process of associating with service providers/Private Medical Practitioner under modified Insurance Medical Practitioner Scheme (m-IMP Scheme) for empanelment as an mIMP/ eChemist/ eDiagnostic Centre located in the State of Karnataka for providing medical treatment against defined remuneration services under ESI Scheme to Insured Persons (IPs) and their eligible family members. The request for empanelment from Service Providers/ Private Medical Practitioner (Insurance medical Practitioner/Chemists/Diagnostic Centers) under mIMP Scheme should be made through an online application. The applicant shall apply online through “Apply under mIMP Scheme” on https://esic.nic.in/app/webroot/mIMPscheme/.
The Additional Commissioner & Regional Director, Regional Office, ESI Corporation, Bengaluru, who is the Regional Head of the Corporation of the state is interested in entering into tie-up with mIMPs in the following locations.

where ESI does not have its medical establishment or which is newly implemented, for providing outpatient primary medical care to insured persons (IPs) and their families at a private clinic under the modified Insurance Medical Practitioner (m-IMP) Scheme as per ESIC policy /guidelines. 2. About modified Insurance Medical Practitioner Scheme: Medical Practitioner (mIMP): An mIMP is a private Medical Practitioner who is registered with ESI to provide medical treatment to the Insured Persons & their family members against defined remuneration. The selected Private Medical Practitioner shall be henceforth known as the registered ‘Modified Insurance Medical Practitioner’ (mIMP) for ESIC. He/ She shall be free to continue with his/her private practice but shall have to offer cashless priority services to the attached IP or his family members. The mIMP shall be selected based on the rebate he/she should offer on the upper ceiling limit is Rs.500/- per IP family/ Year. He/ She shall only provide consultation services and not required to carry out any lab test or distribute medicine against this remuneration. Non-attached IP or his family member may be treated as a non-IP or private patient.
Empanelled Chemist (eC):
A private or public local chemist shop/pharmacy of a defined service area notified by ESIC for serving Insured Persons (IPs) & their dependents is called an empanelled Chemist (eC). The chemist shop/pharmacy should be complying with the statutory rules, regulations and licenses. ESIC Regional Office in co-ordination with DCBO/BO will empanel locally available Jan Aushadhi Kendra, or a local Chemist Shop based on discount offered on MRP of drugs. Selection of suitable Chemist shall be based on various factors such as suitability, service availability, proximity to a registered IMP or desired location, discount offered, conformity to statutory licenses, laws and authorizations, quality of drugs etc. Empanelled Diagnostic Centre(eDC): A private or public local Diagnostic Centre of a defined service area notified by ESIC for serving Insured persons (IPs) & their dependents is called an empanelled Diagnostic Centre (eDC). The Diagnostic Center should be complying with the statutory rules, regulations and licenses. The diagnostic Centre having facility for Lab, X-ray, ECG, etc. are preferred. ESIC Regional Office in coordination with DCBO/BO will empanel a local Diagnostic Centre for basic investigations based on discount offered on CGHS rates for such tests. Selection of suitable Diagnostic Centre shall be based on various factors such as suitability, service availability, proximity to a registered IMP or desired location, discount offered, conformity to statutory licenses, laws and authorizations, quality of diagnostic services etc.
