About University

Siddharth University (informally abbreviated SU), is a state university locates at Kapilvastu, Siddharth Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was established on 17 June 2015 and affiliates colleges formerly affiliated to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University. Steeped in history and washed by the gurgling rivers flowing down the Himalayas, Siddharthnagar is the place, well known worldwide as the ‘playground’ of Prince Siddhartha-later known as Lord Buddha. With an objective of furthering the sense of enlightenment, in a blend of traditionalism and modern education, the great socialist stalwart Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav started the process of developing the area since 1989. 

This was indeed the start of journey to the culmination of great dream of establishing this University. Subsequently, Shri Akhilesh Yadav, the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, laid the foundation stone of the University on October 30, 2013 and the Government of Uttar Pradesh formally notified the Gazette on June 17, 2015 regarding the opening of this Centre for Higher Learning. 

The newly established Siddharth University, in fact, is a holy stream of historical tradition and legacy of the Philosophy and preaching of Lord Buddha and is aimed at enlightening and igniting the youth of this area with His great messages.

IS ENGINEERING TEXT BOOKS IN REGIONAL LANGUAGES HELPS US, HERE IS A REPORT

The all India Council for technical education has recently launched technical text books for engineering courses in Marathi. The books have been introduced after the government decided to have engineering books 11 languages to support from non English medium schools.  In 2021 AICTE has initiated the translation work to publish 218 books and the Maharashtra government recently 20 engineering books in Marathi to help students.  Harshadeep s joshi, assistant professor, Babasaheb Ambedkar technological university ,lonere, Maharashtra who was among the panel involved with the translation of engineering books in Marathi hails the initiative to be supportive students.  The target group is the students from rural Maharashtra, where Marathi is the primary language.
