MINISTRY OF DEFENCE (NAVY) ENROLLMENT OF DESIGNATED TRADE APPRENTICES (2023- 24 BATCH) AT NAVAL DOCKYARD APPRENTICES SCHOOL, VISAKHAPATNAM - 530 014 (AP)

1. Applications are invited from ITI qualified INDIAN national candidates for Apprenticeship Training in the following designated trades for a period of one year at

Naval Dockyard Apprentices School,

Visakhapatnam, [DAS (Vzg)]

for the training batch 2023-24 in accordance with Apprentices Act 1961, Apprentices (amendment) Act 2014 and Apprentices

Trade:

1.       Electronics Mechanic

2.      Fitter

3.      Sheet Metal Worker

4.      Carpenter

5.      Mechanic (Diesel)

6.      Pipe Fitter

7.      R & A/C Mechanic

8.      Welder (Gas & Electric)

9.      Machinist

1       Painter (General)

1       Instrument Mechanic

1       Mechanic Machine Tool Maintenance

         Foundry man

a.In case less than five valid applications are received for a certain trade, the vacancies of that trade will be cancelled and distributed to other trades.

(b) In case any vacancy earmarked for any reservation category cannot be filled up in a recruitment year due to non-availability of suitable candidates in the relevant category of reservation, such vacancies for that particular recruitment year shall not be carried forward to the next recruitment year as backlog.

 (c) Apprenticeship training is one time opportunity to the candidates. The candidates who have already completed or undergoing apprenticeship training in the same or other industry/ establishment as per the apprenticeship Act 1961 shall not be eligible.

IS ENGINEERING TEXT BOOKS IN REGIONAL LANGUAGES HELPS US, HERE IS A REPORT

The all India Council for technical education has recently launched technical text books for engineering courses in Marathi. The books have been introduced after the government decided to have engineering books 11 languages to support from non English medium schools.  In 2021 AICTE has initiated the translation work to publish 218 books and the Maharashtra government recently 20 engineering books in Marathi to help students.  Harshadeep s joshi, assistant professor, Babasaheb Ambedkar technological university ,lonere, Maharashtra who was among the panel involved with the translation of engineering books in Marathi hails the initiative to be supportive students.  The target group is the students from rural Maharashtra, where Marathi is the primary language.
