DRDO, IIT COLLABORATE TO PURSUE RESEARCH


The defence research and development organization had entered into a collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology, Jodhpur for establishing a DRDO industry academica center of excellence at IIT Jodhpur.
 
The centre of excellence is being setup with an aim to pursue directed research in desert welfare technologies, futuristic omni mobility system, artificial intelligence for information and wargaming technologies. Along with this the center of excellence will also undertake science and technology initiatives. 

The research will be carried out by the faculty members and students of IIT Jodhpur in collaboration with different laboratories of DRDO as well as industry and other academic, research institutes. The MOU was exchanged between santanu chaudhary ,Director, IIT Jodhpur and secretary DRDO at Gandhinagar in presence of Rajnathsingh, Union defence minister. 

The centre of excellence will be headed by the director whose appointment will be made by the governing council. Besides, senior academicians nominated by the director, IIT, Jodhpur, dean and registrar will be member of the governing council from IIT Jodhpur. Along with this, the research advisory board will also have members from IIT Jodhpur.

IS ENGINEERING TEXT BOOKS IN REGIONAL LANGUAGES HELPS US, HERE IS A REPORT

The all India Council for technical education has recently launched technical text books for engineering courses in Marathi. The books have been introduced after the government decided to have engineering books 11 languages to support from non English medium schools.  In 2021 AICTE has initiated the translation work to publish 218 books and the Maharashtra government recently 20 engineering books in Marathi to help students.  Harshadeep s joshi, assistant professor, Babasaheb Ambedkar technological university ,lonere, Maharashtra who was among the panel involved with the translation of engineering books in Marathi hails the initiative to be supportive students.  The target group is the students from rural Maharashtra, where Marathi is the primary language.
